I Pet a Lion Cub

Greetings from Africa..or as the locals call it Jo'Berg!!
Sorry this has to be quick, but a brief update:

So, yesterday we went to a place called The Lion's Park and had the chance to see lion's up close, it was so fun. I also got the chance to pet 5 2 week-old lions cubs and they were the cutest.

Also, we took Zulu lessons and let's just say I have learned how to say a couple words using the African Click....if you have seen God's Must Be Crazy or Night at the Museum....oh yes...I am not that good, but I am trying! Our teacher who was helping us just laughed at me...apparently i have great facial expressions when I do it.

Today we went to Kayasands which is an informal settlement that used to be a squatter camp. There are 10,000 people living in a 1/4 of a mile radius.....it was unbelievable. I was humbled and just amazed! We had the opportunity to talk with some people, pray with them, and listen to their stories.....it was a great 3rd world experience! Tonight we ate at a missionary home and hears Walter's story, a black man who has had a hard past and his experiences with Apartheid.

God has been good and despite the worlds and horrible conditions we have seen, He is still faithful and amazes me. It has been great to be able to see Jesus in everyone we meet and also be Jesus to others.

OKay all....I may get back to e-mail in a couple days, if not...it may be a couple weeks! Thanks for your prayers...at this time strength for the team and rest would be the best at this point...also, just an open and willing heart to Evangelize with the people we will meet in the ext few weeks!

blessings,

Kristin
